A Small, Cozy Kitchen With a Big Heart
Tucked into the South Side of San Antonio, La Morenita Restaurant #2 has spent years quietly becoming a neighborhood institution. It’s the kind of place where regulars greet the cooks by name, where the owner herself has been known to wait tables, and where every plate arrives fresh, hot, and made from scratch — not reheated, not rushed.
Our flour tortillas are rolled and cooked by hand throughout the morning, and our huevos rancheros, migas, and combo plates are built around recipes passed down through generations. Guests often tell us it feels less like a restaurant and more like showing up at a relative’s kitchen table, where the coffee is always getting refilled and the staff treats every visitor like they’ve been coming for years.
